IN A NUTSHELL

HackUkraine is a special project of the foreign-policy think tank «ADASTRA» aimed at broadening an often narrow understanding of Ukrainian politics, legal system, and economic development. Initially, ADASTRA`s foremost ambition was to open the world to Ukraine, and now it is high-time to HackUkraine for the World. In fortnight digests, our seasoned experts will deliver research on the main political, legal, and economic issues discussed openly or sometimes off-the-record behind closed doors.

About The DIGEST "HackUkraine"

What is included in our digest?
A particular form of digest may vary depending on the most suitable option for a comprehensive issue coverage. Generally, a subscriber will be provided with separate research materials on the recent shifts in political, legal, and economic environment in Ukraine. Yet, if any event or tendency is too significant to be ignored, an in-depth analysis covering those three aspects will be offered simultaneously.
In comparison to many Ukrainian media, HackUkraine`s digests provide a coherent picture without trying to spread disinformation or lobbying someone’s interests.

The Evolution of NATO’s Strategy in the Arctic Region

The term North Atlantic Treaty Organization gives a clear understanding of the alliance’s fundamental core in geographical terms. However, the northernmost part of the Earth has often been conspicuously absent from discussions in even academic circles regarding the activities of the organization in question. This frequently overlooked terrain is of course the Arctic – that is to say the area within the Arctic Circle, a line of latitude about 66.5° north of the Equator.

Can the International Criminal Court Restore Fairness for Ukraine?

We should remember the 11th of December 2020 as one of the key dates in the Ukraine-Russia judicial battle. Remarkably, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bensouda, has announced the conclusion of the preliminary investigation of the situation in Ukraine. This announcement became the starting point for the opening of the full investigation concerning all serious crimes committed in the context of "Maidan protests", conflicts in Donbas and Crimea.

NATO Space policy: Integrated response to incoming threats

NATO has been constantly facing challenging impediments of both internal and external nature. Indeed, such obstacles have been hindering Alliance’s development, yet they also determined the direction of the Alliance’s course of activities. In the act of enlargement, it was reaching beyond its frontiers of operation and extending to new dimensions such as outer space. Space issues seem to have become one of the prioritized topics of the Alliance’s agenda.
